Cables and services from a local expert

In September 2017, Finnair Cargo opened the new 37,000-square-meter COOL Nordic Cargo Hub freight terminal at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, utilizing advanced warehouse automation technology.

Lödige Systems GmbH is involved in the cargo terminal project, responsible for the entire terminal’s automation and electrification. The construction project began in the summer of 2015, and Lödige Systems contacted Lapp Automation at the end of 2015.

The local expert role was an important selection criterion

“We mainly use LAPP Group’s well-known cable brands in our projects. We wanted a local distributor because we know we’ll get expert help and service nearby. The possibility to store products close to the site makes my job much easier,” says Robert Cox, Site Manager at Lödige Systems.

For the electrification of the cargo terminal’s automation, LAPP Group’s ÖLFLEX®, UNITRONIC®, HITRONIC®, and ETHERNET® cables have been used. Almost all cables are halogen-free, which improves fire safety and reduces the formation of toxic fumes in the event of a fire.
