Certificates and standards
In many cases, the use of products is regulated by law. Only products that can have a certain certificate are permitted for certain applications. As is known, a device or machine must not be placed on the EU market without the CE marking.
The conformity of a product component with industry-specific standards and guidelines therefore proves that the tested component meets the safety and functional requirements for the respective application area. Certification is therefore an important quality criterion.
ATEX
What does ATEX stand for and what does it mean?
The abbreviation ATEX stands for the French long form "ATmosphères EXplosibles", i.e. explosive atmospheres. ATEX is the simplified designation for the Product Directive 2014/34/EU of the European Parliament and Council on the marketing of all devices and protective systems in potentially explosive atmospheres. It addresses manufacturers, importers and users of such equipment. The current directive was adopted on 26 February 2014, applies to the entire European Economic Area and has been transposed into national law throughout the EU.

CPR
What is the European Construction Products Regulation?
BauPVo EU 305/2011, aka the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), is a legal regulation valid in the EU that establishes uniform product and testing standards for construction products. According to the regulation, construction products are all goods that are permanently installed in buildings.
The regulation defines basic safety requirements for buildings, one of which is fire protection.
