Aqua Robur water and wastewater monitoring

Did you know that most of the enclosures LAPP sells are processed in our production department before being delivered to our customers?

Aqua Robur Technologies is one customer where our collaboration has gradually expanded to include both processing and equipping. We sat down for a chat with CTO & Co-founder Martin Holm to find out more!
A challenging environment
Aqua Robur's products are often installed in underground wells and used for measuring and collecting data to give their customers a better overview of leakage in various water pipes. The enclosure used therefore needs to withstand a range of environmental stresses to ensure that the internal components of Aqua Robur products are not affected by external factors.
The product they chose for this demanding environment is the innovatively designed polycarbonate Bocube electronics and industrial enclosure, which features hinges on both sides of the lid. What makes Bocube a first choice for many is that it combines a sleek and modern design with robustness and a high protection class.
"The enclosure helps protect our electronics in a challenging environment," explains Holm.

Collaboration developed over time
The collaborative relationship with LAPP started in 2018. Initially, Aqua Robur only purchased the enclosure itself, but over time the collaboration has evolved to include several different variants of enclosure, machined with everything from single holes to threaded holes and fitted with black SKINTOP® ST-M cable glands and cabling. They are delivered ready for the next step in the process; the assembly of circuit boards and other electronics.

What are the advantages of having ready-made enclosures delivered?
"There are several advantages. Firstly, it allows us to minimise our internal production, which means we save on staff, space, and machinery. Secondly, we get access to LAPP's knowledge and expertise and, as a result, receive a product that is quality-assured," says Holm.
How does the future look in your segment?
"The challenge of addressing the issue of leaking drinking water pipes and flooding of untreated water is a growing problem here in Sweden, but, in global terms, the challenges and the need for our solutions are even greater. We're now working on internationalising our solutions in order to be able to offer them beyond Sweden's borders," he concludes.
