Skanveir lifting solutions

Design Manager Kimmo Koivisto and Regional Sales Manager Juha Heiskanen have known each other for a long time, and when product development was looking for a new controller for the new Skanveir Integra series, the right product was easily found in LAPP’s range.

An innovative product requires the right components

Skanveir Integra is a truly Plug & Play magnetic lifter, with the control cabinet and backup battery pack integrated directly into the lifter frame. The lifter is mounted on the crane hook, connected to a 3-phase power socket, and the product is ready for use. The Skanveir Integra magnetic lifter can also be easily detached, moved to another crane, and there is no need for complicated installation of a control center and backup battery on the crane bridge.

Customization options and local service make the product development path easier

The Hetronic NOVA-S radio controller and receiver were selected for Skanveir Integra. The controller’s layout and functions were defined according to the operating needs of the Skanveir Integra lifter. For example, separate weight buttons were added to the sides of the housing to improve usability. To prevent the controller from automatically entering power-saving mode, this feature was programmed out. This ensures the controller maintains a continuous connection with the receiver, making the system always responsive. All customized features were implemented at LAPP’s electrical service center in Hyvinkää. For instance, when Skanveir’s product development team noticed changes were needed in the radio controller, they were completed within a day, allowing testing to continue quickly.

“Quick response is extremely important in product development and design. Especially during the testing phase, if the product had to be sent back to the manufacturer, it could easily take weeks. LAPP Automaatio’s local service significantly accelerated our work,” says Kimmo Koivisto from Skanveir.
