Ex Enclosures

Certified Safety for Every Atmosphere
ROSE Systemtechnik’s Ex enclosures and Control Stations have proven themselves across a wide range of industries – from offshore, onshore and marine applications to petrochemicals, the process industry, oil and gas production, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as measurement and control technology.

All products are certified in accordance with the European ATEX Directive and the internationally recognised IECEx standards and are approved for use in hazardous gas (IIB, IIC) or dust atmospheres (IIIC). For worldwide use, the enclosures also have country-specific certifications – including CCOE (India), INMETRO (Brazil), UKCA (Great Britain), as well as CCC certification, which since 2020 has covered all aluminium, polyester and stainless steel Ex enclosures and Ex Control Stations for Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
ROSE Systemtechnik also sets high standards for ingress protection: the Ex enclosures provide at least IP 66 protection in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and are therefore dust-tight and watertight. The types of protection range from flameproof enclosure (Ex d/db) and increased safety (Ex e/eb) to intrinsic safety (Ex i/ia), as well as protection by enclosure (Ex tb). These standards also apply to the Ex push buttons and switches developed in-house, which are certified in accordance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx and can be used in Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
Ex Aluminium Enclosures: Robust Powerhouses for the Most Demanding Loads
ROSE Systemtechnik’s Ex aluminium enclosures combine extreme mechanical strength with first-class protection for sensitive electronics in hazardous areas. Thanks to their high corrosion resistance and ingress protection ratings such as IP 66, they withstand the harshest conditions in the process industry or in outdoor applications with ease. With comprehensive certifications in accordance with ATEX, IECEx and CCC, among others, they are qualified for flexible worldwide use in Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.

Ex Polyester Enclosures: Chemically Resistant All-Rounders
When first-class corrosion protection must be combined with excellent electrical insulation, ROSE Systemtechnik’s Ex polyester enclosures are the ideal choice. Manufactured from glass fibre reinforced polyester with a graphite additive, they are electrostatically dissipative and extremely resistant to acids, alkalis and other chemically aggressive media. Thanks to their UL 94 V-0 classification (flame-retardant) and complete resistance to rust, they are ideally suited – unlike conventional metal enclosures – as durable, low-maintenance and lightweight all-rounders in humid chemical plants or outdoor applications.

Ex Stainless Steel Enclosures: For Hygiene, EMC and Extreme Temperatures
For uncompromising requirements in terms of cleanliness, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and extreme temperatures, Ex stainless steel enclosures are the premium solution. Whether on harsh offshore platforms or in the pharmaceutical and food industries, where aggressive cleaning agents and sterile surfaces are mandatory, the base material (up to V4A / 1.4404) resists corrosion and seawater. With special gaskets, they also cover a temperature range from -55 °C to +135 °C and provide excellent EMC screening as standard, making them particularly suitable for sensitive measurement signals compared with aluminium and polyester.

Ex d Enclosures: Flameproof Protection Against Explosions Inside the Enclosure
ROSE Systemtechnik’s Ex d enclosures protect electrical components by means of a flameproof enclosure and prevent a potential explosion inside the enclosure from propagating to the surrounding environment. They are particularly suitable for applications in the process industry and in the oil, gas and chemical sectors where explosive gas atmospheres may occur. Thanks to their robust design and high ingress protection, they can also be used reliably under demanding operating conditions. They therefore provide a safe solution for junction boxes, control systems and electrical installations in hazardous Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.

Ex Control Stations: The Customised Operator Interface
While conventional empty enclosures primarily provide passive protection for components, Ex Control Stations bring active operation directly into the hazardous area. The ready-to-connect systems are configured precisely to customer specifications and equipped with ATEX-certified push buttons, switches, emergency-stop buttons and indicator lights. The enclosure can be made of polyester, aluminium or stainless steel, allowing the control device to be perfectly adapted to the respective environmental conditions. This makes them the ideal, ready-to-use interface for controlling complex machines and processes safely, flexibly and conveniently on site.
