Yes, LAPP offers patch cables and cordsets in various connector types. However, the connections at each end of a cable assembly must be compatible with your hardware (switch ports, device interfaces, etc.). We recommend specifying all connector types during the planning phase to ensure the compatibility of your entire network. Our sales team can help you design a cabling strategy that combines different connector types where necessary, without compromising reliability.

Both are used in industrial Ethernet applications, but have different strengths:
M12:

• circular connector 
• Excellent IP67 sealing for wet/dirty environments
• More robust in high-vibration applications
• Frequently used for distributed devices and machine interfaces.

RJ45:

•  Rectangular modular connection
• Cost-effective for standard installations
• Industry standard for IT/network infrastructures
• Easier on-site termination, if required
