Short summary about products in general

“I get to develop continuously because the systems used at Lapp are constantly evolving. Our people are committed and approach new challenges with a great attitude,” Heidi says.

Heidi’s actual career at Lapp began a few years ago during a corporate acquisition, when the international LAPP Group purchased her previous employer. At that time, the IT department was separated into its own service company, but Heidi later transitioned from the service company to Lapp Automation.

“I eagerly embraced the new role because Lapp was moving to a global SAP system. I had the chance to leverage my experience on a much larger scale. Plus, I already knew many people from earlier projects, as I had worked with them on the first SAP implementation.”

Professional Growth as Motivation

SAP is an enterprise resource planning system that manages key business processes such as quotations, orders, purchasing, and invoicing. Heidi works as part of a four-person team, which in turn is part of the global IT team within the group.

“In practice, we ensure that SAP processes run smoothly for Lapp Finland, as well as LAPP in Poland. Most of our time is spent on the transition project for the operating environment, in addition to developing daily processes and functionalities and assisting key users with any issues.”

A self-proclaimed development-oriented person, Heidi enjoys diving into major projects. She is currently working on what might be the most interesting project of her career.

“We are transitioning from our current SAP system to the group’s global version. At the same time, we are implementing the so-called HANA upgrade, which has already been completed within the group. This is a global transformation, and all companies using SAP go through it. Every SAP professional wants to be part of this upgrade.”

A Taste for New Experiences—Even When Traveling

Graduating as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Häme University of Applied Sciences, Heidi does not have the typical IT background.

“My strength is that I have used SAP extensively in previous roles, for example in sales. This helps me better understand user needs and design the necessary system improvements.”

In her free time, you might find Heidi at the gym or enjoying the outdoors. During vacations, she loves to travel—often to destinations she hasn’t visited before.

“I enjoy traveling to new places. Among beach destinations, the Greek islands are my favorites. For a city break, I would probably choose Rome,” Heidi reveals.
