Multiculturalism is part of our DNA. At Lapp Connecto’s Vieremä factory, employees come from several different countries, which is why we have invested heavily in onboarding.

Janne Rautula, Factory Director at Lapp Connecto’s Vieremä site, says that multiculturalism is a richness and a major opportunity for the company, but it also requires persistent, long-term effort.

“We learn from one another. Our workplace community functions well, and we have not experienced any major cultural clashes. The development of our systematic onboarding process has played a key role in helping employees integrate into the workplace. It takes each employee into account, regardless of their cultural background. Onboarding always begins with an introduction to Finnish working culture and our company’s practices, along with a thorough explanation of all practical matters. In addition, we have supported our employees in their private lives with matters related to settling into Finland,” says Janne Rautula.
